Stunning result at the N.E.C. Classic Car Show....

Silverstone Auctions were delighted with their sale result at the NEC Classic Car Show on Saturday 17th November 2012, where gross sales of over £1.32m were achieved. With 42 out of the 64 cars offered being sold, Silverstone were proud of their 65% sales rate at the first ever auction at the Classic Car Show.

Highlights included selling all four VW Beetles, including a 1950's split rear screen for £23,100.
Both Fiat 500's made exceptional money, the ex David Cameron car making double the pre-sale estimate  and selling for £18,480 and the concours red ex Fiat GB car selling for £17,200.

Other strong sellers were a Ferrari 456 GTA  which made £41,200, and the most expensive car in the sale - an immaculate Aston Martin DB IV - which sold for £224,000.

The successful sale means that Silverstone Auctions will be back at the NEC in 2013 to build on their solid start. The complete 2013 calendar of auction events is now available at; www.silverstoneauctions.com

Entries are now invited for the February 2013 Race-Retro sale, where 28 competition cars and over 50 classics sold for over £1.8m in 2012.

26 Cars sold at Carfest North and another £30,000 raised

Carfest North had an even more exciting feel than South, as over 25,000 people attended the event at Cholmondeley Casle on the 8th and 9th of September 2012, enjoying live music, great food and an exciting hillclimb.

Silverstone Auctions were delighted to sell a further 26 cars out of the 43 offered in an eclectic mix that ranged from a beach buggy through to an Aston-Martin Vanquish! But more importantly the charity Lots offered raised a further £31,000 for Pudsey, taking our total monies raised from both Carfests to close to £90,000 for BBC Children in Need.

A great time was had by all, we feel privileged to have been a part of Carfest and to have worked so closely with our friend Chris Evans whose energy levels and professionalism were staggering throughout.

Carfest will surely now become a future part of British summer festivals and looks set this year to raise £1 million in its own right.

Meanwhile, we look forward to our next big sale for classic cars, classic bikes and automobilia at the Classic Car show at the NEC on November 17th. Entries are now invited please contact our professional vehicle consignors on 01926 691141. Thank you.

£60,000 raised for Children in Need!

What a weekend Carfest South proved to be! Fantastic fun for all, especially the families who attended, with plenty of great bands playing on the main stage, excellent food in the 'Cakes verses Pies' competition and some stunning cars taking part in the hillclimb.

We all had a ball and the Auction was a major part of the fun too, with Chris Evans on stage at both of our auctions, entertaining everyone and creating a special and light hearted event. Charity Lots were auctioned by Chris and World Landspeed record holder, Richard Noble, including the beautiful 1960's Split Screen Camper Van which raised £33,500 for Children in Need on its own!

The auction sold 43 cars in total for a value of £625,000 which is an excellent 62% sales rate for our vendors. But more importantly, after all the Lots had been sold which included our contributions to Children in Need, we finally raised a fantastic total of £60,000 for the charity.

We are so pleased to have been involved and are now really looking forward to Carfest North which is taking place at Cholmondeley Castle, near Leeds on Sat/Sun 8th and 9th September 2012.
Late entries are now being taken for the auction, so please consign today. We look forward to seeing you there and can offer our regular customers some limited tickets for the weekend.

CARFEST 25/26th August 2012 selects Silverstone Auctions...

Its with great pride that I can confirm Silverstone Auctions has been chosen by Chris Evans to host the inaugural auction at his Carfest event this summer.

Taking place at ex Formula 1 World champion Jody Scheckter's farm at Laverstock Farm in Hampshire, this brilliant new festival, which combines cars with rock music and food, looks set to become a very special bank holiday event. Restricted to just 15,000 tickets and strictly in aid of Children in Need, all the details can be found on their website www.carfest.org

Our auctions will have a unique format. The Saturday sale will be known as 'The Pride and Joy Auction' for genuine classic car enthusiasts who have owned their car for more than 3 years and whose value is sub £25k. They will drive their car on to a specially created stage and be interviewed prior to the car being sold, giving them a unique opportunity to extol the virtues  and tell the history behind their 'pride and joy.' This sale is restricted to 150 cars and will benefit Children in Need.

On the Sunday we will hold our 'Sunday Best Sale' for cars worth over £25k, again offering the drive on stage facility with the benefit of a celebrity interview prior to the car being sold. This sale is restricted to just 100 cars and again will benefit Children in Need.

Prior to that weekend we do still have 2 sales going on at Silverstone, one on Wednesday 16th May and one at the Silverstone Classic on Saturday 21st July. We look forward to seeing you at any of our Sales whether you are buying or selling and thank you all for your support and interest.

Fantastic result at Race-Retro

Silverstone Auctions first sale at the Race-Retro show in Stoneleigh took place on Feb 25th 2012 and proved to be an outstanding success for the team and their customers.
3 out of every 4 cars entered were sold on the day with a total sales value of £1.8m (a sales rate of 75%).
This doubled the previous achievements of both H and H and Bonhams, as well as setting a record for the total sales value during the show.

Customers were delighted ~ with both sellers and buyers achieving their highest hopes and expectations, meaning that all cars were paid for and delivered within 48 hours of the sale and buyers paid out within 14 working days.

The highest value Lot was a racing Tojeiro Jaguar reaching £286,000 under the hammer, with an Aston Martin DB4 reaching an on target estimate of £170,000. Ayrton Senna's helmet and overalls achieved a combined price of over £100,000 with over 28 competition cars also finding new homes. Silverstone are overall completely delighted with the first year of their partnership with Race-Retro and their first experience of holding a sale away from their base at the famous circuit in Northamptonshire.

The next sale is the Spring Sale which takes place back in the Wing at Silverstone Circuit mid-week on Wednesday 16th May and entries for all classic cars, competition cars (classic and modern), race and road-going motorcycles and Automobilia are now invited. Please see www.silverstoneauctions.com for full details.
