Carfest South sells 52 classics!

A highly successful Carfest South took place over the bank holiday weekend at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, with over 25,000 people in attendance.

It was a fantastic weekend for Silverstone Auctions with 52 out of 70 entries finding new homes with very satisfied vendors and buyers alike. Over £800,000 worth of cars and charity items were sold, including some special Lots auctioned personally by Chris Evans and Seasick Steve.
Infact the whole team worked tirelessly and completed their third auction in a month to raise an incredible £169,600 for BBC Children in Need.

Camper King worked very hard and converted a NW Sportscars VW van during the weekend, which was then auctioned for charity - raising over £10k for Children in Need, when it sold for over £22,000 under the hammer.
Overall a superb result for all involved and a sincere thank you to all our vendors, purchasers, under bidders and supporters.

Our next big sale is the NEC Classic Car Show Sale on the 16th November and entries are now invited.
It's a very prestigious sale in our annual calendar and entries are limited so please talk to us about your classic as soon as you can.

Many thanks.

Carfest North raises over £115,000 for Pudsey!

The Silverstone Auctions team - fresh from their recent success at the Silverstone Classic - arrived at Oulton Park on the weekend of 4/5th August to a fun charity sale with petrol head, Chris Evans, and set about selling 20 or so value classic cars to the enthusiastic audience, but more importantly raising £115,651 for BBC Children in Need from the stunning charity Lots on offer.

Star of the show was the awesome Vicarage Jaguar E-Type which the very generous vendor had offered all sale proceeds to the charity direct. The beautiful car raised £73,025, including £7,500 donated from Silverstone Auctions selling fees. A great result for everybody involved. I was personally delighted and extremely proud of our whole team.

Our new Camper King partners generously combined with Nick Whale Sportscars and converted a second hand van (for free!) during the festival which sold eventually for £22,425 with over £6,000 going directly to BBC Children in Need.

A stunning result all round and we are now only halfway through Carfest - with the sale at Carfest South coming up on the bank holiday weekend of August 24/25th - at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.

A diverse and eclectic entry includes 72 classic cars, an historic caravan and an ex Harry Potter motorcycle...

Tickets are available for the day and all the Lots can be seen, including some amazing charity Lots, at www.silverstoneauctions.com

Don't miss it....!

Silverstone Classic Sale - stunning result!

Saturday the 27th of July 2013 set a new record for Silverstone Auctions at the Silverstone Classic Sale when over £2m worth of cars were sold at one event, with over two thirds of the classic cars finding new homes as well as 8 competition cars.

I was delighted with this result for vendors and purchasers alike and proud that the team broke the £2m barrier for the first time. Notable results were achieved from the Aston Martin DB 5 selling for £373,750 and the ex-Des O'Connor DB 6 selling for £147,200.

The unique 500 mile Jaguar XK 150 'S' Roadster broke a UK record when it achieved £201,250 and had a fascinating story to tell of it's exploits on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the late 1950's....

Even the original ex Enid Blyton Noddy Car, or Fiat Gamine, made an impressive £29,325 as well as the ex-Bernie Ecclestone Ferrari 456 reaching a strong  £34,500.

But perhaps the most encouraging prices achieved were for an absolutely original Lotus Cortina, with just 2 owners from new, achieving double it's pre-sale estimate and selling for £38,525 and the very last UK market Honda NSX Targa achieving a strong £80,500 - which may seem cheap in years to come...

Overall a great sale was enjoyed by all and our new Lifestyle products were popular with customers and particularly the ladies. Providing a pleasant distraction from the cars, we sold nearly all the watches, jewellery and leather goods for a record sale of over £100,000.

This format will be repeated at the NEC Classic Car Show sale in November and we look forward to seeing you there.
