Amazing Inaugural Restoration Show Sale

With sincere apologies for the lateness of this update (!) I am delighted to report that our first auction held at the NEC Practical Classics Restoration Show on 12th April 2014 was an outstanding success.

We achieved our highest percentage sales rate to date at 85% of all the cars selling for a final hammer price of just over £1m!

The all new concept of an auction for Barnfinds as well as restored classics was a resounding success and our vendors and buyers alike were all truly delighted with the results. Several cars doubled their pre-sale estimate including both Aston Martin V8's (£51,175 and £49,450) and a Jaguar XK 150 Drophead Coupe selling for £62,100.

The Hooper bodied Lagonda made a significant six figure price pre-sale and the Facel Vega HK500, which was in need of a total restoration, sold for £64,400.

Celebrity cars also faired well with the original 'Arthur Daley' Jaguar XJ6 used in the programme selling for £15,525 and the milk float from Eastenders achieving a bargain £2,300!

Over 75 classics found new homes through Silverstone Auctions.

So the market for Classics remains very strong which is encouraging for our next sale at Silverstone Circuit which is to be held on Saturday 24th May in the Wing above the Formula One pits.

Entries close on Wednesday 7th May and we would be delighted to talk to you about your classic car or motorcycle.
